Meet Summaries
Boys: This is one of the 'youngest' boys team in the school's history, with 9 of the runners in their first 5k competition. They inaugurated their season, however, with a good team first effort and some excellent individual performances on the tough VVS course. With work and effort, this is a team on its way up. The boys JV provided some pleasant surprises with solid runs by Garrett Smith and Stephan Boatwright.
Girls: Potential has the been the word most associated with this year's girls squad. A first race-glimpse of that potential was offered at VVS as the girls raced to victory in their Varsity III race and placed 2nd overall at the meet. Elizabeth McMahon continued demonstrating Section III upper echelon ability as she posted the 4th overall best time of the meet and 2nd in her race. Exciting debuts were registered by a number of runners. Freshman Katie Rothenberg followed excellent varsity Indoor/Outdoor seasons as an 8th grader by establishing herself as the Section's top Freshman with a 7th place race finish and 17th overall in the 384 runner field merge. Another terrific first-effort(20th) came from freshman Sarah Kibby, who was followed closely by improving Stephanie McGrath(22nd). Much of the Wildcat's success was keyed by senior Erin Hennigan, who pushed the team pack through the first mile and placed 12th herself. All eight of the varsity runners placed in the top 30. Forced to run incomplete, the JV's were led by Katie Naton, who placed 19th in the large-schools race.

Meet Summaries
Boys: The young boys team continued their improvements with some shuffling of top-7 runners and by lowering their 1-5 gap. It was a muddy, windy mess of a race on an already tough Belmont Plateau 5k course following a long wait in the bus, but both Varsity and JV squads took it in stride with a mudder's mentality.
Girls: Despite the absence of one the team's top-7(Betsy Bubnack-ankle injury) the girls ran well against some of the northeast's finest teams and came close to a very good NY Northport squad. The full force of the day's rain and wind hit a mile into the race, but the girls battled, with good carry-overs that picked up places. The team enjoyed two top-20 trophy finishes. Katie Rothenberg placed 17th in the elite field. Elizabeth McMahon went into the middle-mile hill loop in 14th place and came out in 4th, which she held to the finish for a superb race. The follow-pack of Erin Hennigan, Stephanie Bartlett, Sarah Kibby and Stephanie McGrath were separated by only 11 seconds and the 1:40 1-5 gaps was a distinct team improvement.

Meet Summaries
Boys: The goal was improvement, and the boys squad accomplished that despite being 'shut out' by the Northstars. Another positive was lowering the 1-5 runner gap to 1:26.3. The guys go after their first dual meet win of the season next Wednesday when Henninger visits their Camillus Middle School home course.
Girls: The girls were winning this one at the half-way mark, but CNS charged with its 3-4-5 runners and took control of the race. Excellent runs were logged by many Wildcats, however, as they continue to move toward a totally healthy squad.

Meet Summaries
Boys: The boys grabbed an important 'W' in what will be a challenging dual-meet season. Henninger didn't make it easy, taking the #1 and #4 individual. But following was a Wildcats pack that took the 5-10 spots to seal the victory. Tony Francher made a big move up into the team top-5, with solid efforts by most team members. The boys also registered another good 1-5 runner gap.
Girls: The girls ran virtually unopposed, taking the first 7 places for the XC shut-out. Elizabeth McMahon again paced the team with a fine negative 3rd mile split. She was followed by Stephanie Bartlett with her second solid step-up race. The girls also made significant stride in lowering their 1-5 gap to 1:11, the best of the season to date.

Meet Summaries
Boys: A tough day on the looping McQuaid trails turned to misfortune when Varsity and team top-7 runner Tony Francher broke his leg during the final 150 meter finish stretch of the race. Without tripping, bumping or stepping into any course depression, Tony inexplicably broke his lower leg. Medical attention was prompt and he was home before midnight, ruing the end of his season. The boys will re-group and continue to develop their scoring top-5.
Girls: With two their senior leaders sidelined, it was the sophomores and freshmen that had to come through for the Wildcats. And they did. Elizabeth McMahon set a WG McQuaid course record by 20 seconds with a 6th place individual finish. Katie Rothenberg continue to demonstrate why she is a candidate for Section III Freshman of the Year with a 19th place individual finish in the elite McQuaid field. Step-up performances were also logged by Sarah Kibby and improving Stephanie McGrath. And hats off to first-year runner Brittany DeSantis for an awesome victory against McQuaid's most disrespectful element, the 'straggler rule.'

Meet Summaries
Boys: A tough day for the boys. The Liverpool pack established dominance early in the race and took too many Baldwinsville runners with them before the 'cats responded. West Genesee will have to train harder to keep themselves in races longer so good things can happen.
Girls: Liverpool had upset on its mind and for at least the first mile of the race was running ahead of WG. But the talent and pacing of the Wildcats took over and the race became a series of interesting individual and small group battles. Elizabeth McMahon was never really challenged in the race while Katie Rothenberg was locked in a good one with Liverpool's #1. Outstanding was the word for the 'cats pack' which went 6-7-8-9 in dashing any hopes Liverpool had of an upset. West Genesee also ran the table on Baldwinsville in taking the shutout 15-50.

Meet Summaries
Boys: The boys went out strong in this once, but were unable to hold the pace as a team against good depth by other squads. They ran strong, however, on a surprisingly tough course, with a terrific step-up performances by Mike Eassa and Garrett Smith. The boys have little time for adjustments before their final dual meet against RFA/Oswego on the hilly Oswego course next Wednesday.
Girls: In their small invitational field, the girls made individual places the competitive focus as they captured 6 of the first 8 spots, including the only under-20:00 girls time by race winner Elizabeth McMahon. Her 19:56.0 is a possible course/meet record. Katie Rothenberg again excelled, taking 2nd. Steady senior tri-captain Erin Hennigan could once again be counted on for a solid performance as she pushed the pace and teammate Stephanie Bartlett. Sarah Kibby, following a tough dual meet against Liverpool/Baldwinsville, registered a nice rebound-race. Senior Betsy Bubnack continued her return to action following injury by winning the JV race. Also in the JV race, Becky Webster ran strong as the team's #4 with one of her best efforts of the season. The girls now switch into training mode as they prepare for stiff split-team races October 23rd at Marathon and Saratoga.

Meet Summaries
Boys: Two tough losses left the boys with single victory for their dual-meet season. Two runners in the top 6 were not backed by any close Wildcats pack, dashing any hopes of an upset run. The team will work hard on closing the 2-3 gap before the start of championship meets.
Girls: The girls continued their winning ways with a solid group effort and double wins which garnered them a 5-1 record and 2nd place for the season in the National Division behind CNS. A 0:59 spread for the 1-5 runners was their lowest of the year. The girls now ready for a major invitational at Saratoga next Saturday.

Meet Summaries
Boys: Finishing their 2004 invitational schedule, the boys saw some good performances but are still working on closing the large 2-3 gap. Charlie Deragon and Mike Bott went out with lead packs in this large 272 runner field. Others were caught further back but still made moves up in their respective battles. The boys JV, led by Stephan Boatwright, plugged in a nice 1-5 runner spread in their race with good races by Boatwright, Matt Kalwara and Pat Baumgartner. The Varsity goal for the 10/30 county championship remains the same: shrink the gaps.
Girls: By their own admission, it was a lackluster girls team performance. Seeming to have not benefited from the previous weekend off, the girls ran sluggish, with few challenging themselves and other runners in the middle/late stages of the race. It certainly did not help that they were missing top-5 runner, Erin Hennigan, to a knee injury. Still, as perhaps a testament to their overall ability and greater team depth this year, they placed 2nd in the field, outracing other state top-20 teams such as Auburn, Elmira Southside and East Syracuse-Minoa. The glaring exceptions to this generally poor team performance were an outstanding race by Stephanie McGrath, who stepped in up Erin's absence, and a very strong team 6th place by E.J. Reedy. Becky Webster also registered a commendable effort for the JV's. The girls will do the only thing a team does with this kind of race: forget it and move on to the OHSL Championship on 10/30.

Meet Summaries
Boys: The boys scored the top-20 finish they'd worked toward and continued team improvements. Congratulations to Mike Bott and Charlie Deragon who earned All-League status as they placed 13th & 14th in Class AA. Senior Mike Eassa logged another solid effort for the Wildcats.
Girls: In a second 'short-handed' effort, the girls this week competed without lead runner Elizabeth McMahon and with Erin Hennigan struggling off a knee injury. It was another week of step-up efforts that kept the Wildcats competitive in this year's tough OHSL League meet where all classes have it out in one big race. Katie Rothenberg made a major statement with her stellar 9th place effort in the 222 runner field. Stephanie Bartlett continued working up through the Class AA ranks with a 21st place. The following 'pack' of Betsy Bubnack, E.J. Reedy and Stephanie McGrath provided a solid 1-5 effort for the 'cats who are working toward a full healthy-team effort at their Section III Championship on 11/6. Congratulations to those earning All-League honors: Katie Rothenberg, Stephanie Bartlett, Betsy Bubnack, E.J. Reedy, Stephanie McGrath, Sarah Kibby and Erin Hennigan.

Meet Summaries
Boys: It was the right place and the right time for the best team effort of the season. Placing higher than predicted, the boys finished a difficult dual-meet year and a 'young' team year on a high note, with a number of great efforts and performances. In a tough, tough Class AA field including nation-leading Fayetteville-Manlius, Charlie Deragon and Mike Bott logged top-25 individual finishes. Both were also top-60 in the huge 573 runner Sectional merge. With most of their top-10 returning next year, the team will look forward to next June's summer training with moving up in Class AA on their minds.
Girls: The girls were primed for a big team effort, but it did not fully materialize, with several key members running off their strong OHSL pace of the week before. They did, however, continue to demonstrate solid team strength for this season and potential for season's ahead with a 3rd place team finish, up one from 2003. Elizabeth McMahon, coming off a knee injury, made a solid rebound, placing 4th for Class AA, 6th in the 463 sectional merge. That earned her a second consecutive trip to the State Championship. Like the boys, the girls will return a number of quality runners in 2005 and will again battle as one of the section's top teams.

Meet Summary
Girls: Competing in her 2nd consecutive State Championship as an individual runner, Elizabeth McMahon ran her personal best 5k for the season(19:18.8) in placing 24th in the 107 Class AA field. Elizabeth combined a conservative 1st mile with strong 2nd and 3rd miles to move up almost 15 places throughout the race on the twisty, rolling Chenango Valley course under cold and sometimes gusty conditions. In the all-important merge results used to determine NYS Federation Championship individual qualifiers, Elizabeth raced an excellent 33rd in the 579 total state field. That finish earned her a Feds race berth 11/20 at the tough, hilly Bowdoin Park 5k course in Wappinger Falls, N.Y.

Meet Summary
Girls: Intent on capping a solid season, Elizabeth McMahon qualified for Federations a second consecutive season with a strong State Championship finish and traveled to Bowdoin Park in Wappinger Falls to race the best in NY state. While on her warm-up, however, Elizabeth suffered a reoccurrence of a pre-exiting knee injury dating back to 8th grade. Her race over before it began, it was also an extremely tough way to finish an excellent season. She will be examined for possible knee surgery this winter.
